In a Q&A with Tidesports.com on Wednesday morning, Alabama Crimson Tide basketball coach Avery Johnson announced that his team will be playing an exhibition schedule in Canada this August, with two games being played in Ottawa and one in Montreal.

The contracts for the games have been signed, and the Tide will be playing McGill on August 7th in Montreal, before travelling to Ottawa to play Carleton on August 9th, and the Gee-Gees on August 10th.

Alabama finished last season with a 19-15 record, while going 10-8 in SEC play to finish 5th in conference. They took part in the postseason NIT tournament, falling in the first round to the Richmond Spiders.

The Crimson Tide were led last season by freshman forward Braxton Key, who averaged 12.0 points and nearly six rebounds per game before declaring for the NBA Draft this summer. Key has yet to sign with an agent and could return to the Tide before the summer trip.

Avery Johnson also has brought in a top recruiting class to Tuscaloosa, headlined by #2 PG Collin Sexton, as well as #5 SG John Petty.
