DISCLAIMER

You cannot actually bet on U SPORTS Basketball, we do not condone betting on sports, however if this is something you’re interested in this is how we assume the lines would look like for this week’s games.

Each week Jordan, Mitch and Ryan will pick against the spread six games for nothing but personal enjoyment. In advance, we’re sorry that your team wasn’t favoured, or that you can’t actually bet on these games.

After week one… our three “experts” are all 4-2, which shows how we found guys that are juuuuuust good enough to pass.

Here are some lines that three Canadian University Students invented in their free time:

St. FX @ Dalhousie

The Line: Dalhousie (-4.5)

OH BABY! AUS BASKETBALL IS BACK AND IT BEGINS WITH A BANG!

These two teams met Sunday in the final of the St. FX Invitational tournament with Dalhousie coming out on top 82-79.

Guelph @ Carleton

The Line: Carleton (-30.5)

The CUSN Media Poll #1 Team and the U SPORTS Coaches Poll #1 Team opens up their OUA conference schedule this weekend at The Ravens Nest against the Guelph Gryphons. Carleton coming off a huge close to the preseason win over Providence, which makes your favourite undergraduate handicappers think about a major #LetDownGame. Carleton is the best team in the country, but place your monopoly money on this one with caution.

UBC @ Calgary – Friday

The Line: Calgary (-5.5)

The #CUSNMBBGOTW takes place at THE JACK this FRIDAY with LUCAS MEYER for FREE on CANADAWEST.TV! OH BABY!

UBC missing Conor Morgan on the road makes this a scary game to bet on, but you know Phil Jalapoor is lethal from anywhere on the floor and could easily keep this game within 6 points.

Scary bet, I like the home team but wouldn’t be surprised if UBC keeps it tight or wins outright. Amazing analysis I know, but hey at least our site doesn’t have a paywall.

Memorial @ Acadia – Saturday

The Line: Acadia (-22.5)

Final 8 hosts open up their AUS season Saturday at home against Memorial. An 0-6 Pre-Season for the Sea-Hawks says lay your chocolate coins on Erik Nissen and the Axemen.

Like we’ve always said BE CAUTIOUS with big favourites, but if you’re buying what Acadia is selling not a bad bet to take the favourite.

Brock @ Queens

The Line: Brock (-7.5)

Badgers are playing good basketball, and at first glance the 7.5 points seems like easy money. But The Gaels are also playing great basketball right now. Expect a bit of a shootout and a tough one to call.

Alberta @ Winnipeg – Friday

The Line: Alberta (-17.5)

Had we bet on last Saturday’s Trinity Western & Alberta game the Golden Bears would have covered with ease, and Friday night it looked like they would cover with ease…

Next thing you know… #CANWESTAFTERDARK STRIKES and TWU keeps it within 22 and doesn’t cover.

Golden Bears on the road at Winnipeg this week, given 17.5 points. Bears have the ability for an easy cover or another Friday night letdown… PICK WITH CARE.

Picks Against the Spread

Jordan (4-2)

Mitch (4-2)

Ryan (4-2)

SFX@DAL

DAL -4.5

GUE@CAR

CAR -30.5

UBC@CGY

CGY -5.5
